Sync-Gen 3LX Precision Tempo-Sync DAW > Hardware interface

$550.00

DAW generated outgoing MIDI clock is very susceptible to jitter.

The technical reasons are beyond the scope of this introduction.

All drum machines, modular systems and hardware sequencers in existence use MIDI Clock, Din-Sync or Voltage-Clock synchronisation formats with a wide variety of rates. Integrating these devices in a DAW studio environment usually requires conversion, increasing latency and often introducing more jitter.

Driving external hardware with unstable tempo-sync results in poor tempo-stability, loss of rhythmic feel and problems maintaining accurate DAW grid-alignment when tracking / recording and overdubbing.

So how can we make the DAW an accurate tempo-sync master without sacrificing timing stability and reliability?

We bypass the DAW and the host computer internal MIDI Clock generator and create our own that is hard-locked to the audio interface and the quantize grid and is 100% immune to jitter regardless of project track count or computer processor capacity.

Result is your external hardware recordings have the performance feel and rhythmic focus you want every time.

The Sync-Gen 3LX is a sample-accurate, latency-correcting, universal DAW to external hardware tempo-sync interface with advanced plugin control provided in AU / VST / VST3 and AAX formats. A single dedicated output from your audio interface is the only requirement. All audio interfaces are supported. No DC coupling is required. All DAWs are supported as are all project sample rates. All outgoing five pin ports are switchable between MIDI < > Din-Sync. An output buss-switchable direct MIDI Merge is included on the front panel for live keyboard play or for injecting DAW generated MIDI events into the precision generated clock stream as required.

Analogue Voltage Clocks and DAW running status Transport output pulses ( switchable between 5VDC / S-Trig ) are provided via a rear TRS socket with all clock rates supported and selected directly via front panel rotary switches. All clock rate changes are DAW-grid bar quantized ensuring smooth live performance and / or real-time recording / tracking feel. A variable Voltage Trigger / Pulse width control is provided for the slower rhythmic analogue clock rates.

Internal native clock resolution is 96PPQ and is 100% tempo-stable to 5μs (microseconds) which means all other clock rates retain identical stability and alignment being internally divided down by the hardware architecture design.
